Ladies and gents: Presenting the new Uyo
Since
the inauguration of Chief Godswill Akpabio as the third democratically
elected Governor of Akwa Ibom State on May 29, 2007 there has been a
total turn around for the capital city. The pace of infrastructural and
socio-economic development witnessed in the Uyo in the last five years
has been phenomenal and breath-taking, baffling even the most ardent
critics of the present administration. The achievements of the
administration has earned it the sobriquet of harbinger of
UNCOMMON TRANSFORMATION, a feat that has been hailed by local and international observers, including the much dreaded WIKILEAKS, which cited Akwa Ibom under Governor Akpabio as a state to watch in terms of infrastructural development.
